ABOUT THE CAMP
The Augusta Players is a nonprofit theatre that has been in business since 1945 and we love to teach kids how to have fun onstage!
Each year our summer camps provide musical theatre training in a fun environment for children 6-16. During these camps, emphasis is placed on learning the skills and craft of creating musical theatre!
Each group has classes in music, dance, technical theatre and –ACTING!
This year’s Lower/Upper Elementary group will learn, create, produce and perform excerpts from: Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Jr.
The Middle/High School group will produce and perform excerpts from: The Lion King Experience Jr
Join the fun at the Augusta Players Summer Musical Theatre Camp! Each camp is a two-week program for children ages 6-16. Two sessions are available:
Session 1, Monday June 4- Friday, June 15
Session 2, Monday June 18 — Friday, June 29.
Both sessions will be held at a St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St. Augusta, GA 30901. There will be a showcase performance at 1:00pm on the final day of each session. A camp t-shirt is included in the fee.
The fee for each session is $295.00
LEVEL 1—Ages 6-8 (or K — 2nd grade)
LEVEL 2—Ages 9‐11 (or 3th — 5th grade)
LEVEL 3—Ages 12-16 (or 6th — 11th grade)
All sessions begin at 9:30 am and end at 2:30 pm, Monday-Friday only. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and a snack.
Class sizes are limited so please get your forms in early. Pre-registration is required in order for your child to receive a t-shirt.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Rebecca Pollard Brune, Camp Director, is a veteran actor with The Augusta Players and is a former artistic director for the Augusta Jr. Players and assistant director for Peach State Opera. She has graced the Imperial Theatre stage in several roles including Madame de la Grande Bouche in Beauty and the Beast, Sister Berta in The Sound of Music and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Currently, Mrs. Brune is playing the role of Ursula in Disney’s The Little Mermaid with the Players and teaches drama at Evans High School.
ABOUT THE FACULTY
The Augusta Players summer camps always employ the finest of teachers who are culled from the Augusta theatrical community and beyond. Current Jr Players Director, Roy Lewis will be directing one of the showcase productions along with Ms. Brune. Joining Mr. Lewis and Ms. Brune as Acting instructors will be Rachael Carroll and Christi Volpitto Wildes while choreography and movement instruction will be taught by Kaitlyn Dunaway. Technical Theater and Stage combat skills class instructors will be Mike Grigsby and Brandon Fields.
