Augusta Players Announces Auditions for ANNIE

Annie gets a home for the Holidays! The irrepressible comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals, featuring some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including “Tomorrow.”

Auditions: October 9th and October 10th  from 7:00 pm-10:00 pm
Location: Jessye Norman School of the Arts
739 Greene St, Augusta, GA 30901 (Please do not call the school with questions about auditions)
Callbacks, if needed, will take place on October 13th at 3:00 pm for Adult roles and October 16th at 7:00 pm for Orphan roles, Warbucks, and Grace. 

 
Looking for performers of all types, ethnicities, shapes, sizes.
Orphans: Ages 9-14
Adult roles: Ages 17+
 
 
Please note that there are two separate dance auditions each night. Child dance auditions will take place at 8:00 pm and Adult dance auditions will take place at 9:00 pm each night. Please sign up for a solo singing audition and a group dance audition. (If you are auditioning for the role of Oliver Warbucks, you do not need to attend a dance audition). 
 
If all audition slots are filled on the sign up genius please still come to auditions. We will accept walk-in auditions. 
 
If you cannot make it to in person auditions, video auditions will be accepted until 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 10th. Video auditions should include a singing and dance audition. Please email video auditions to c.decarlo@augustaplayers.org 
 
Performance Dates: December 13th, 14th, and 15th  at The Imperial Theatre. 
 
Please fill in an audition form, conflict contract, and photo release form. Blank forms will be available at auditions.

Please see below for audition material, sheet music, and rehearsal tracks. Please choose any 16-32 bar cut of your choosing to sing for auditions. Auditions will take place with live accompaniment. Please note, if you choose to sing a song other than the options provided below for your audition, please have the material be in the style of musical theatre and have sheet music available for the accompanist.

Annie
A street-wise orphan; she is eventually taken in by Oliver Warbucks. Spunky, friendly, big-voiced.

Warbucks
A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish.

Grace Farrell
Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, gentle.

Orphans
The other girls in the orphanage with Annie. These girls are gritty, neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and potentially loveable. Includes Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy.

Miss Hannigan
The orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold.
